Collection Security Summer School 2018

Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma, the National Library of Italy, 5-7 September 2018

The Security Network of the Consortium of European Research Libraries (CERL) is pleased to announce that we are now open to take bookings for its second Summer School on Security issues. Curators and security officers from libraries and archives have the opportunity to spend a few days at a course where we aim to share knowledge on topics related to collection security.

Our summer schools aim to create a network of security officers and curators who work together on best practice, who alert each other to potential areas of threat on the market, and who generally support each other in security matters.

This year’s summer school follows the pattern of the one held in The Hague in 2017. Its programme is being developed around 3 main themes:

Each theme is addressed through 3 types of activities:

The presentations and discussions will be in English.

The final programme for the 2018 Collection Security Summer School is available here.

The Summer School started at 13:00 on Wednesday 5 September 2018 and ended at 16:00 on Friday 7 September.
