The College was founded as Gonville Hall in 1348. It was re-founded in 1557, at which point it took its current name. The first dedicated library premises dates from 1441. The College Library possesses 101 incunabula items. In 2019 the College Library became a member of the CERL cluster of historic Cambridge libraries. Between 2021-2022 records for 65 of our incunabula were added to MEI. The proposal in hand is for a dedicated cataloguer, with the specialist skills and experience, appointed by CERL, to come to the Library to review and overhaul the 65 records already on MEI and to create 36 for the remaining. The College was founded as Gonville Hall in 1348.
