 CERL seeks to share resources and expertise between research libraries with a view to improving access to, as well as exploitation and preservation of the European printed heritage in the hand-press period (up to //c. // 1830). The organisation was formed in 1992 on the initiative of research libraries in many European countries and legally came into being in June 1994.  **CERL Seminar at the Beinecke Library, Yale, Friday 21 April 2017**\\ A one-day Seminar will be held on "Retracing the Steps from the Old to the New World", where members of the new Group of American Libraries in CERL will present and discuss their European Special Collections holdings, expectations from the new collaboration and common objectives. Attendance is free, but please register with [[secretariat@cerl.org]]. The programme will be available here.
