Aldus 500: Three Aldines from the Lund University Library and the Einar Hansen Collection

This small display consist of three significant Aldine books. Two of them are in the characteristic small octave format (M. Tvllii Ciceronis de philosophia, 1541; Le pistole [sic!] di Cicerone ad Attico, 1555) and are part of the Einar Hansen Library. The centerpiece, however, comes from the University Library collections. It is a copy of the famous Hypnerotomachia Poliphilii (1499), donated to the University by King Karl XI about 1680. Please note the the texts in this small exhibition only are in Swedish.
